Baltimore Fashion Week® Concludes Season 18 with The Signature Runway Experience
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 28, 2026
BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Fashion Week® concluded its 18th season on Friday, August 14, 2026, with The Signature Runway Experience, bringing designers, models, beauty professionals, production teams, media, supporters, and guests together for an evening centered on fashion, creativity, and independent design.
Established in 2006 and presenting its first runway season in 2008, Baltimore Fashion Week has continued to provide a platform for emerging, independent, and returning designers while creating opportunities for creative professionals to participate in a full-scale fashion production.
Tracie M. Jiggetts, host of Baltimore Fashion Week®, opened Season 18 by recognizing the partnership with The Walters Art Museum and Fashion Remix: Baltimore Fashion Week Mixer, a creative competition and community initiative connecting fashion with works from the museum’s permanent collection.
Three creatives were selected as finalists through the competition, with two finalists ultimately presenting their interpretations during Season 18: Cindy Bui drew inspiration from the Garland Sarcophagus, while Darrius Hyman-Sanford, interpreted Hathor: Solar Regalia – Sistrum. Both works are part of the permanent collection of The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ms. Jiggetts then introduced the designers featured during Baltimore Fashion Week’s Season 18 runway presentation. The first segment featured collections from Erin Anderson, Tasia Cotton, and Shaniqua Hammond, followed by Sankofa African & World Bazaar, presented as part of The Retail Edit.
Following a brief intermission, the runway resumed with collections from Kenya Baker, LaNiyah Tooks, and Lloreal Johnson, along with Annaya Thomas, presented under The Ones To Watch, and Season 4 alumni designer Darrius Hyman-Sanford.
Together, the presentations reflected the range of creative voices Baltimore Fashion Week has sought to support throughout its history, from returning alumni to designers presenting on the platform for the first time.
The August 14 runway presentation represented the culmination of months of planning, coordination, fittings, rehearsals, production preparation, and collaboration among participating designers, models, beauty professionals, photographers, volunteers, production personnel, and organizational leadership.
“Season 18 brought together an incredible community of creatives, professionals, and supporters who each contributed to bringing the production to life. We are grateful to the designers who trusted us with their collections, the models who brought those collections to the runway, the teams who supported the production, and every guest who came through the doors to support independent fashion. We are proud of what was presented during Season 18 and look forward to carrying that momentum into 2027,” said Sharan Nixon, Founder and Executive Producer of Baltimore Fashion Week®.
Beyond the runway presentation, the 2026 season included experiences designed to extend engagement throughout the season, including the season launch and Fashion Remix Mixer. Together, these events created additional opportunities for designers, supporters, creatives, and members of the fashion community to connect beyond the runway.
Editorial coverage of Season 18 designers began ahead of the runway through The Collection Preview and continue post-event through The Designer Edit, highlighting participating designers, their creative perspectives, collections, and the stories behind their work through Threaded Stories. Additional features will recognize members of the teams whose contributions helped bring Season 18 forward.
Planning for Season 19 is underway as Baltimore Fashion Week® prepares for its return in 2027. Building on the momentum of Season 18, the organization remains committed to production excellence, creative presentation, participant preparedness, and delivering an elevated experience for its guests.
Baltimore Fashion Week® extends its appreciation to its sponsors, supporters, participating designers, models, beauty professionals, photographers, media representatives, volunteers, production teams, partners, and guests for their contributions to Season 18.
